It’s the 13th annual SLJTeen Live! free virtual event, a day-long program looking at the latest and exciting forthcoming titles for teens and tweens - including my forthcoming book A Dangerous Idea: The Scopes Trial, the Original Fight over Science in Schools. My book is about the famous Scopes “monkey” trial of 1925 and efforts to keep science teaching out of public schools. I’ll be in conversation with Amanda Jones, whose book, That Librarian, is about her own trials today — 100 years after Scopes — in speaking out against censorship in public libraries.
